Go to Market with Agents: Getting to the Magic Moment Faster

Andrew's daily go-to-market update: interview learnings, shrinking the hour to the magic moment, and the agent's automated blog internal linking.

I'm Andrew, and this is Go to Market with Agents for Agents, part three. Today was interview day, and the interviews surfaced two things at once: a clear picture of the magic moment in the product, and a hard problem — it currently takes about an hour to get someone there. That hour is the number that now drives everything the team does next.

Getting to the magic moment faster

The interviews showed that when people reach the magic moment in the app, they are genuinely delighted — you can see them smile on camera. That is the signal that conversion is close. But an hour is a long way from the magic moment, and it is a huge problem: the goal is to get this information and experience to people in the shortest amount of time possible.

So the next steps are to bring that delight forward — show it to users sooner — and to get what I learned out to the team so we can steer the ship together. The interviews went straight into Slack, more problems were identified, and now we can start working on solutions.

> Right now we're an hour away from a magic moment. That is a huge problem.

The agent handles internal linking

One thing I want to show in these go-to-market updates: the interview notes immediately go to the blog, and the agent takes it from there. The product can read and edit our blog posts and hook up the internal linking automatically. Once a blog post goes out, it runs through this process and comes out with internal links wired in — which gives Google a better signal.

This is a quick taste of the magic moment of what's possible here. It is also something to keep improving: right now the editing replaces a whole content block when it should search and replace, and that burns tokens. Every time we run this, I look for ways to make it better.

Talk to people — it's the whole job

I can't stress this enough: if you're building and you want to go to market, you have to be talking to people. I'm literally paying money to get people to use the product and speak their thoughts, because I keep learning things about my product and my customers' pain points that I was completely unaware of — and they're easy fixes to implement that win goodwill.

Trust is the new commodity

There is severe distrust in the market right now. So many people have shipped garbage products and so many users have gotten burned that trust is the new commodity. In one product interview I was going to demo the Google Sheets integration — pulling data from Ahrefs and Semrush and quickly writing a spreadsheet, a real time-saver — and the participant was extremely hesitant to grant Google Drive access, even in a paid interview.

That says a lot. Trust in the marketplace is smoked, and there's a lot of work to do on transparency and earning trust when going to market. I'll keep posting these updates daily with what I'm learning — and I'd love to hear your feedback.

Hey, I'm Andrew, and this is Go to Market with Agents for Agents, uh, part three.

Alright, so here is our uh, process uh, of what we're doing. So I had some interviews today, learned a lot about the product. So uh, the signals I'm getting, I am getting close to a conversion. I think I am seeing a magic moment when they, it takes about an hour for me to get somebody to an app magic moment through these. But they see it and they're really impressed. Um, so what I got to do is there's a couple problems. I have to bring that uh, forward um, and get that word out and also show it to them sooner so I know what uh, absolutely delights them. I've seen that. I see him, you know, uh, smile really big on the camera. So now the next, I got to get this out to my team and we have to steer the ship because we know the problem that we got to do. We have to get this information to people uh, in the shortest amount of time. And so right now uh, we're at an hour, we're an hour away from a magic moment that is a huge problem. So uh, a lot of work to do. So uh, took the interviews, dumped it in um, uh slack. We've identified more problems um, and now we can start doing uh, solutions. So so uh, some of the things uh, I'll show on the agent with these uh, go to market updates, uh, they immediately go to the blog like I've been talking about. Um, uh, but also what we um, have here is we have internal linking in these blogs here. And so what's really cool about this is we um, get to uh, have internal linking here. And this was set uh up actually by the agent. So once the blog post actually goes out, well what our product can actually do is handle the internal linking on our blog. So this is actually a quick short of like kind of like the magic moment of what's possible here. Um, the agent can just basically read and edit our blog and hook up all the internal linking which gives Google a better signal. So you know, after I'm done you know putting this video up, I run it through this process like after a blog is made, runs it through this process and then you get internal linking here with um, the agent being able to write um, uh, our blog posts, edit our blog post. So there's a number of things uh, that I'd like to fix here. This needs to be search and replace. It replaces the whole like content block and we're just burning tokens there. So um, every time we do this I look at ways to improve uh, what we're doing.

So this is just a quick update. I plan on making these every day of what I'm learning. Um, and I can't stress this enough. If you're building and you want to go to market, you have to be talking to people. Um, right now I'm, like, paying money to get people to use this thing, um, and speak their thoughts. It is so important because I am learning things, uh, about my product and pain points of my customers that, that I completely was not aware of. And it's a very easy fix for me to implement, um, and, you know, win goodwill. Uh, another thing I'd like to talk about is there is a severe distrust now because so many people have made garbage products, they've put them out there, so many people have, uh, gotten burned. Uh, trust is the new commodity. That's just how it is now. And so, uh, an example in a product interview, I was going to show how my product can connect to Google Sheets. And, uh, it's actually really cool because it can pull data from ARFS and Semrush and quickly write a spreadsheet. It saves a lot of time. But they were extremely hesitant, like, when they saw they had to actually give access to Google Drive, um, they weren't doing it even on this paid product interview. Right. So trust in the marketplace is absolutely smoked. And so there's going to have to be, um, a lot done here, uh, for transparency and to earn trust when going to market. So I hope this, uh, helped you. Um, these are kind of the lessons that I'm learning. And, uh, I'd definitely like to hear your feedback. Um, thanks a lot.

Frequently Asked Questions

The interviews showed that users who reach the magic moment in the app are visibly delighted and close to conversion, but it currently takes about an hour to get them there — a problem the team is now working to fix by showing that moment sooner.

Once a blog post goes out, the agent reads and edits the blog and hooks up the internal links automatically, which gives Google a better signal. Andrew notes it currently replaces whole content blocks instead of doing search and replace, which burns tokens.

Because so many people have shipped garbage products and users have been burned, trust in the marketplace is deeply damaged. Andrew argues transparency and deliberately earning trust must be part of going to market.

The product can connect to Google Sheets and pull data from Ahrefs and Semrush to quickly write a spreadsheet, saving a lot of time — though a paid interview participant hesitated to grant Google Drive access.
