Typography

Typography: Booton

Typography has the power to convey as much emotion and strength as an image, while reinforcing and supporting our brand identity. Booton—our master font—has a simple, modern, and clean aesthetic, just like our platform.

  • • Maintain consistent font weights across similar content types

  • • Ensure proper line spacing for optimal readability

Accessibility

Color contrast

  • • Ensure sufficient contrast between text and background colors.

  • • Avoid using color alone to convey meaning (e.g., "Click the red button" – pair with text or icons).

Typography & Readability

  • • Use sans-serif fonts (e.g., Helvetica, DM Sans) for better readability.

  • • Resources: Body text: 12pt print / 16px digital (minimum)

  • • Avoid all caps, italics, or light font weights for long text.

Alt Text for Images & Graphics

  • • Provide concise, descriptive alt text for all images, icons, and logos.

  • • Decorative images should have empty alt text

Document & Digital Accessibility

  • PDFs & Digital Docs:

    • • Use proper heading structure (H1, H2, H3).

    • • Ensure text is selectable (not image-based).

  • Web & Social Media:

    • • Use descriptive link text (e.g., "Read our sustainability report" instead of "Click here").

    • • Add closed captions for videos and transcripts for audio.

Testing & Compliance

  • • Test web designs with screen readers (NVDA, VoiceOver, JAWS).

  • • Follow WCAG 2.1 AA standards for digital content.

Accessible Logo Usage

  • • Ensure logos have high contrast against backgrounds.

  • • Provide a clear space buffer around logos to avoid visual clutter.

Print Materials
